The Arkansas Real Estate Commission (AREC) requires seven hours of approved CE courses, including the following hours on each of these subjects:

  • Safety: One hour

Regardless of whether you are an agent or a broker, you will need to complete the remaining hours of CE by taking elective courses. These can be general real estate courses, such as modules relating to:

  • Ethics at Work
  • Marketing, Advertising, and Social Media Compliance
  • Document Excellence for Smoother Transactions

Note: AREC requires new salespersons to complete 18 hours of post-license education and new brokers to complete 30 hours within 6 months of their license issuance date.

Inactive Arkansas Real Estate Agents

Your license can become inactive for up to one year in Arkansas if you do not renew it on-time.

Keep in mind that you will not be able to engage in any real estate sales or brokerage activity with an inactive license.

If more than one year passes since your license expires, you will no longer be able to renew it, and will instead be required to reapply in order to get your Arkansas real estate license.
